Furry Family Members | Naperville Photographer

If you don’t know that I’m a dog lover, then you obviously don’t know or follow me! LOL  So it is always my pleasure to include our furry family members into a family session.  They are family, after all.  I love being a Naperville photographer because Naperville is such a large city, and being next door to Aurora (the state’s second largest city), I am surrounded by people…and their dogs.

Ok, so back to this session.  A family can be so many things.  A couple, parents and children. Adult children and their parents.  Or sometimes, humans and their fur babies.

 

If we do a session with dogs, I will choose a dog-friendly location that works for everyone.  On this day, we did a few places, actually.  We started here. The size of the dog also plays a part in deciding what we want to do.  With a little dog, like this one, I knew we would want a setting where they could sit and put her on their laps.

 

It was a gorgeous day, so getting a beautiful backlit spot made for some great portraits.  By putting the sun behind people and adding my own light in front of them, I’m able to balance the light and allow for pictures like this.  If you look at the light hitting the man, you can see that the sun was behind and to camera right, creating awesome rim lighting.

 

So after taking plenty of pictures at this location, we wanted to go back to the studio for a formal dog portrait. I love to create more of an art piece, something that can last forever. If you would like a formal portrait of your beloved dog, we can also do that as a stand alone fine art mini session.  What I mean by fine art is that I digitally paint these type of portraits to create something beautiful and timeless.

 

And since it was such a gorgeous day, we decided to walk down to the riverwalk and do a few more pictures with the pretty flowers.

 

Springtime is upon us, which means we should be in full bloom within the next week or two!  Definitely time to start scheduling your family portrait session with your friendly, neighborhood spiderman…. I mean Naperville photographer.  Oops, I’ve been seeing way too much Marvel lately. LOL  I’m ready to get back outside and behind the lens to create beautiful pictures for families.
