Once upon a time, the world was blanketed in glittery snow. The world was quiet without the birds chirping as the snow dampened the sounds of everything, leaving us in a hushed dream. Okay, maybe the silence was interrupted by the shriek of laughter from little children as they delighted in the snow, or maybe it was the cackle of an adult shoving snow down someone’s shirt.  Winter makes a child out of all of us, doesn’t it?

When this family brought up the idea of a winter session in the snow, I was all for it. But wanting a snow session means having to wait for the right weather. We needed a good amount of snow, and temperatures that weren’t too cold, as the kids would need to be okay outside for a while.  Making the outfits include hats and whatnot was a great idea for keeping them warm while still being cute.

 

I mean just look at them! It was utterly perfect on this early morning. If you want a session in the snow, be practical and realistic with how you dress. These sisters were utterly adorable as they cuddled together.

 

I love the warm, morning dawn colors against all this snow. This pile of recently cut up logs made for the perfect set up for this family.

 

We also went to another spot with a fall log. Which of these family pictures if your favorite? I can’t tell. I love them all.

 

Do you want to know what these big smiles are about? Do you see the hint of mischief in these faces?? Well, it was because I promised them a snowball fight at the end.

 

And I kept my promise!
