I’ve said it many times before, and I will probably always say it – there is no more wondrous time for a woman than when she is pregnant. A pregnant woman may not always feel beautiful, but man, there is no time in life when a woman is more powerful, which, to me, is beautiful. She is CREATING LIFE inside her. That really is mind blowing. Sure, her balance may feel off, she is uncomfortable, she may not appreciate some of the physical changes of her form, but I hope all pregnant women can feel our reverence.

 

Maternity photography runs a wide spectrum from bold and dramatic, artistic nudes, casual lifestyle, etc. Personally, I love the bold and dramatic, but that is just my own personal taste. What is most important is making the woman feel beautiful and celebrated.

 

I look to my clients to let me know their vision for the photo shoot. I have many maternity dresses available to clients, but of course, you can bring your own! My goal is to create artistic pieces (if that is also what my client wants).

 

But also to capture the time when a couple is just full of anticipation. The last moments before two become three. Before their whole world is turned upside down – but in the best way!

 

There are specific times in our lives that are crucial demarcations of change. Where there is a definitive Before and After. Weddings are one. Having a baby is another.
