NVHS Athlete of the Year – Fall Sports
I am so honored to get to photograph Neuqua Valley High School’s athletes of the year. Each coach nominates an athlete to represent their sport and school. Each season, we have an unveiling in the school with all the sports of that season. Coaches stand and give a speech about each athlete and why they were chosen. Then I get the privileged of “revealing” the image, and everyone the athletes, their families and friends from each sport get to see and applaud.
While these images are for the school, I also do athlete images like this as part of senior sessions if the senior is an athlete. I truly love doing them.
Let’s start with boy’s cross country. Personally, I love serious and edgy athlete pictures. This one was so intense and perfect.
And to go along with it, we have girl’s cross country where I did something different by adding text to the image to make it more of a poster.
Next up was a bit of comedy with boy’s golf. The coach needed to nominate this foursome of seniors. So I thought on what to do and had fun creating this one. Each boy added his own personality to it.
Next up, we have girl’s diving, which I had never done before. Can I tell you how perfect her hair was in this single take?!
And the other half of the sport, we have girl’s swimming. People know I love creating reality, but this was truly her reflection in the water.
Next we have girl’s golf with a lovely, colorful image.
We can’t forget football! He was a great sport with trying things with me to get it just right.
Then a beautiful one of girl’s tennis. I love her hair movement in this image.
Our last fall athlete, we have girl’s volleyball.
