If you have a 2026 senior – it is time to get booked for your senior pictures! I know, it is so hard to believe, but don’t wait too long. Summer is a great time to get them done before the crazy schedules of school and sports kick in. I can’t believe I have to do my own daughter’s senior pictures this year?!??!

Part of the fun of senior pictures is picking the right location to match each senior’s personality. The location we picked for this senior is one of my favorites for senior guys. It is outdoorsy with some cool architectural features that work for a cool kid.

 

The warm brown of these log columns contrast great with blue. It’s hands down my favorite color matching for this spot.

 

Part of the fun of this location is having all these different elements. Senior boys tend to not want to spend all day doing pictures – how dare they?! So picking a spot that can provide variety within close quarters is key. Letting my clients be themselves but still creating beautiful pictures is what it is all about.

 

Part of the journey is also getting different aspects of their personality, which means smiles, serious, and occasionally – broody.

 

With senior sessions, I want to provide the whole spectrum of who they are, so that once they go away to college, their parents can hold these pictures close and feel them. Seniors don’t tend to be that sentimental. It is a balancing act – giving seniors cool pictures they love and giving parents pictures to hold dear.

 

It was funny. During the last senior ordering appointment (a senior boy), mom was picking out all of the one where he smiled, and he picked out all the ones he looked serious. LOL  So to wrap up this session, we took a little walk to find this water. Now, be warned, if you want to go here – you can’t predict the water levels. I’ve been here when it was like this – able to walk about to find large rocks or a log to sit or stand on – but also when the water levels are high, and there is nothing to walk out on. Just water. This must have been a low water level time.
