Naperville Maternity Photographer | Natural Beauty

I would say I do like 80% of my maternity sessions in the studio, but sometimes clients want an outdoor session. Something more natural with a bit less drama than what I typically do in studio (go see HERE if you are curious). So for this session, she wanted to be out in nature and liked the woods.

We started with bright and sunny, creating a soft lit moment of quiet reflection as she thinks about the baby who will be part of their lives in only weeks.

 

Some maternity sessions are only about the mom to be, and some include the future dads. That is totally up to them. On this session, I got to meet both.

 

I wanted their session to be beautiful portraits, so on some I decided to create a painted feel, like this.

 

When out in nature, I’m always looking for spots that will be perfect. For this next one, we were literally just walking down the paved path and I saw this little offshoot of an opening. The lighting was totally magical, so I made her stop and walk out into it. It turned out to be my favorite image of the whole session! It’s hard to believe this was actually real, right??

 

One of the coolest things about this location is the stone stairs. And the way the foliage frames the stairs makes it even prettier.

 

And one more with both parents-to-be, which are now actually parents of a toddler, which is hard to believe! Its all about connection and intimacy for maternity sessions. Its the last moments before their lives are turned upside down.  Last days without constant worry and sleepless nights.
