Yes, I know, I never blog anymore! But it is busy season, and I am spending every waking moment editing right now. I’m currently under the weather, so I pulled up my very long To Do list for blog posts. It is a treat to recall this handsome senior. If you follow my work, you will have seen one of these images, as I use it all the time for athlete ads. Well here is where it all started!

It’s not every day when one of my seniors has a uniform! I loved taking some pictures of him both in it and “regular” clothes.  This red door was the perfect backdrop for him.

This isn’t a location I go to all that often, but it was a nice, formal spot for him. Choosing the right locations is one of my specialties. If you don’t know where to go, I have it covered!

And then we also did pictures showing the real him, which was much more casual. This may have been the biggest smile I got from him, as he was a serious guy. But I’ll take it! I love it when locations give me variety. From a formal mansion to some concrete urban vibes.

And when doing outdoorsy pictures, there are many vibes you can go with. There is light and airy, but you can also create dark and moody when you have your own lighting. I loved this image when I took it, and I still do!

Ok, let’s get to what was most memorable about this senior. He was a swimmer, and I decided I wanted to try something new. So I created this image after a lot of work. Since then, swimmers request it all the time. It was always a “wow” image. I had this vision in my head, and it turned out even better than I had anticipated!

When I do athlete pictures, I like to do a mix of action and posed images like the below. This allows me to get a good variety of images for what many seniors feel has been the biggest part of their high school careers.

I wonder what this young man is up to now? He is probably a senior in college! I hope all of his hard work has paid off.

Yes, it is no longer peak senior season, but that doesn’t mean you missed the boat. Technically, we can do pictures at any point, but I will see many clients again the in spring who were simply too busy to get them done earlier.
