Happy Birthday! | Hinsdale baby photographer
I did her mom’s maternity session while she was still in momma’s belly. I met her when she was a wee newborn. Then again at her six month session. And now it was time for her one year celebration, finalizing the Baby’s First Year Plan and combining all of those sessions into a single Heirloom album that the parents can always look back on her first year.
It is so amazing to see how much a baby changes from newborn to sitting then to their one year mark. This little diva is her mommy’s delight. All thing girly all the time. LOL I have this really cute seat that is perfectly sized for a little one. But she wanted nothing to do with actually sitting on it. LOL That is one thing about young ones – you can’t make them do anything.
Did I mention she was mommy’s little princess? Well, she brought in all the tiaras, and we let her take her pick from them. I think she wanted them all!
And if you know me, you know I prefer moodier images over light and bright. So we went with a little more artistic. I loved her little coat and hat with those big cheeks. I just find these images to be more timeless than ones with props or a scene.
But that’s not to say I don’t like light and bright or colorful. This little backdrop is super cute but still stays neutral in color. It was also great to see all those teeth as she giggled and played with me.
So for a one year session, we typically end with a smash cake, which the parents provide. You never know how a baby will react with the cake. While we all picture a baby just digging in and going nuts, the reality is that most babies aren’t interested in cake or actively HATE it. You just never know. But I love to create a cute collage like this that is printed on a 12×12 to keep out.
Happy birthday to this little one! Of course, this session took place over a year ago!!
