Unicorn Session! | Naperville Photographer
Have you seen the animated movie, Rise of the Guardians? In it, Santa is explaining to Jack Frost that everyone has something at their core – their center – that defines them. For Santa, it was wonder. For me, it is magic. It truly is. So when I did unicorn mini sessions last year for the first time, my inner child was in heaven. They were such a success. This year was ready to be even better… but then rain happened. Then happened again the next month. And the next. We literally had four rain cancellations! These were supposed to be held in May, and I was pretty much ready to just wash my hands of it for the year, but we tried one more time in September (on a 90 degree day). Unfortunately, many of the original clients couldn’t make it, but we still created some magical pieces of art for these little girls. And before you ask, yes, the unicorn is real. He is the sweetest little pony ever and so chill, which makes him perfect for working with young children.
I created some new setting this year to make them even more magical. This is definitely one of my favorites. I love everything about it – from the circular frame of the tee to the way she is sneaking up on the unicorn who is busy eating.
But this castle scene is still one of the bests, especially when a girl shows up dressed like a princess, complete with tiara.
This was another new scene for me this year. I have so much fun creating these pieces of magic. I’m so glad I have my own canvas up on my walls of my daughter with the unicorn from last year.
And this little girl wasn’t about to leave her little unicorn.
Innocence always tames the elusive unicorn.
