Bring Your Personality | Naperville Photographer

When I meet with high school seniors for a consultation, sometimes parents (or the teens) will ask what they should wear for their senior portraits. I always say the same thing, “I don’t care!” LOL I mean, don’t get me wrong, I do have opinions on what looks better and things I would recommend on color, etc. But these are not my pictures. These are YOURS. They are for YOU. That being said, I will bring my artistry and style in terms of lighting, posing, and editing. That is on me.

 

I want pictures to represent my clients – their own style. I want them to feel good during our session, and that is best accomplished by encouraging people to be themselves.

 

I hate when I see photographers stylize a client’s session. Then it becomes about the photographer’s vision, and less about the actual client. However, when it is work for me like for competition or whatever, then it is whatever I want.

 

I can be an enthusiastic driver for your session, but I always want my client to be steering where we go. It’s a precious balance and an alliance between us. I love to build these relationships.
