Is there anything better than the laughter of babies?  Ok, maybe also puppies, but seriously, if baby belly laughs don’t make you smile, you might be dead inside. Even just thinking about seeing those gummy smiles, or with just those few teeth peeking through fills me with joy. There isn’t much better.

And so it is  always a delight to photograph a one year old’s first year session!

 

This little princess had the most beautiful dress that mom had brought, and so I picked a setup that would compliment the colors. I always love dove grey against dusty rose. I love the monet-like flowers on this background.

 

They also brought their small dog (I always welcome dogs in our sessions!) And their dog was a pro, posing perfectly and doing exactly what we wanted from her.

 

We wanted to showcase a second outfit, which also meant changing up our set. Going from light and airy to a darker, moodier vibe. I brought our my rocking horse, which every one always loves.  She is too little for it, but she still enjoyed checking it out. And the cream of her outfit went beautifully with the warm brown.

 

We ended the session with a smash cake. She even shared it with her puppy! But I enjoyed this image best.
