This was a new family for me.  It was a beautiful day, and it also happened to be my birthday.  They felt so bad about scheduling on my birthday, but really, I didn’t care.  But they were so sweet – they brought me some cupcakes!  Maybe I should schedule things on important dates more often for the treats??  Yes, I am bribeable.  And yes, that is now a word. 😉  So I was warned from the get go that this kiddos might be tough for me to get some good pictures, mainly because their daughter is going through a lovely frustration phase where she pulls out her hair when she’s mad.  Not pulls her hair, but grabs fistfulls and pulls it out.  Poor thing.  Hopefully as she gains words her frustration will ease.

When we first started, she wasn’t sure about me, and I got to watch her anger and throwing herself back.  But thankfully, dad had a great trick of asking her, “Where are you cheeks?  Where are your eyes?” etc.  Then she would happily point to the body parts.  This is how we broke the ice.  After that, she was super smiley and sweet.  I love her little curls.  And big brother was a great sport through it all.  He’s such a handsome little guy, isn’t he?

 

Getting her to sit for a moment was a minor miracle in itself.  But well worth the patience to get her smiling.

 

Playing games to get kids to sit still is usually my thing.  Seems to work well!

 

 

Boy did she like playing by the water.  Her mom had to stay very close to keep her from getting more than her feet wet.  Her brother wanted nothing to do with getting too close to the water, though.  LOL

 

This is definitely my favorite picture of them because it was real.  She was loving on him so much.
