Naperville Photographer | Extended Family Photography

I really do love extended family sessions.  Yes, they are a lot of work, but they are so worth it.  This family was mostly in from all over the country – west and east coasts both!  Getting such a big group together to visit the grandparents is wonderful, and worthy of commemorating through professional photography.  We lucked out with perfect weather on this day.  It wasn’t super hot and plenty of clouds in the sky.  We did have to work with some excess of energy from a young boy, but that is to be expected.  That is why I am a firm believer in head swaps.  When young children are involved, it is next to impossible to get adults relaxed and smiling and children looking at the camera with real smiles all at the same time.  Hence, my job and picking everyone’s best smiles separately from each pose.

I really wanted to show some of the whole group, but I don’t have permission to show one of the grandchildren, hence the blurred out portion.  What a great looking bunch, right?

I was also able to do great pictures of each individual family.  How beautiful are they?!

The big sister did NOT want to be near her little brother after the very first picture where he poked her in the eye.  Thankfully, she did allow some pictures, but man, she was not his biggest fan on this day.

Then it was time to get all the cousins together.

Making people laugh is one of my biggest joys as a photographer.  Because there is no faking true happiness.

Then I also did individuals of the grandchildren.  Here are just a couple.
