Naperville Photographer, Elmhurst Photographer | Extended Family
I had the pleasure of meeting this extended family a few weeks ago. I love doing extended family sessions. They are so important. Never take for granted the family you have today – treasure them, cherish them, remember them, and of course, document them through photographs, video, and writing. This was a bittersweet session. The grandmother contacted me for this session. She wanted to have the entire family together for pictures because her husband has Alzheimer’s. Some days are better than others. Thankfully, he was in a good mood, happy to be there, though I tried to make it as quick and painless as possible. Everyone was a dream, and we were able to cruise through this fairly quickly.
We started with some beautiful pictures of all three generations. It was such a handsome crew.
You got to love the beautiful fall colors.
I love this one of grandma and grandpa with all the grand kids. His expression is awesome.
The kids kept eyeing this tree, so the parents helped them all get up there. It took a bit more work than expected. Once they were there, I think they got a bit nervous. LOL But it is always great to get a picture of the cousins.
Then it was time to move to the stairs and bridge. It was at this time that we had our only upset, as no one was watching the grandfather for a moment, and he headed toward the river. Thankfully, nothing bad happened.
And of course, some of the individual families.
And last, but not least, the two who made everything possible.
