Most of my maternity clients decide on a studio session, but I was excited to do a rare outdoor maternity session with this couple.  It was a gorgeous day for us, and they were such a nice couple.  While I usually focus on the woman in maternity portrait sessions, she let me know that she really wanted him in the pictures.  It is very helpful to me when clients let me know what they want, so I can be sure to meet their needs while I’m working.  I never go in with planned ideas – I do have a general idea, but poses and specific spots are grown organically from their personalities, clothing, etc. I look forward to meeting their little one in a few more weeks!

I love working outdoors, mainly for the skies.  They can add such dimension and drama to an image – going from just a “picture” to art.

And she wanted to do my blowing fabric image.  While not quite the same as in studio, it is still stunning.

 

 

I can’t decide between the first image or this one as my favorite one of them together.  I love them both!

 

But this is definitely my favorite one of her alone.  I love the darkness of the sky and water.  Actually, I love everything about it.  She was a great sport about stepping out there. I did loan her my shoes, so she didn’t have to ruin her own or worry about slipping in the water.
