The Big Day | Naperville Photographer
Normally when I talk about extended family sessions, it is a set of grandparents and maybe two or three families under them. This day was a BIG extended family. Everyone was flying in for their son’s graduation party, and they wanted to finally get some family portraits done since everyone was going to be there. People came from literally all over! But it was all because of this family, more importantly, this young man who just graduated high school.
They wanted me to come to their home where they were hosting a grad party, but to do family pictures before the party started. Thankfully, their home was right next door to a park, so we had space to make it work. And I was told I only had like 45 minutes – no pressure! LOL When you are wrangling a large group, it is hard to move fast. Thankfully, I put on my Boss pants and cracked the whip, telling everyone exactly what to do. LOL
Thank goodness it was good weather because there was not going to be any rescheduling for this many people! Besides the full group, I made sure to get each individual family, cousins, etc. Everyone was a great sport with being bossed around, but I was on a time table, so there was no messing around lol
I had people ask for headshot, which had a line of them getting those done besides all the different pairings.
Believe it or not, that first extended family picture wasn’t everyone. It was only one side! Here was the entire gang. And of course the dog was welcome to join in the fun.
When I had met the required shots, I opened it up to any others people wanted to do. Kids asked me to do pictures with every cousin, or doing silly poses. These two cousins had the most fun doing all sorts of things. I loved this one, personally. All attitude!
