Love and Family | Naperville Photographer
What matters in life? Its different for everyone. But I think it changes as you get older. When you are young, we chase things like career, children meeting milestones, looking great. But at the end of the day, what matters more than family? We have kids, and our world revolves around them. Then they get older, and apparently so do our parents. It is a precious time of life, really, and it balances so precariously. The children are of an age to start being more aware outside of themselves and can perceive the importance of family unlike when they are young.
For some, the older generation lives with us, for some they are nearby, and others only see them occasionally. When it is a rare treat to have grandparents in town, it is easy to remember that this is a celebratory moment. I get calls for doing multi-generational portraits. LOVE them, especially when it includes even more extended families.
But for those where we see grandparents often, or even every day, it is very easy to forget the importance, how special it is that we have them in our lives. It is easy to take them for granted because the day in and day out of life gets the better of us. But everything is fleeting. Don’t put off commemorating your extended family while you can.
Doing these sessions, of course I do all sorts of groupings, including individuals.
I also did some headshots at the very end, because there is no additional fee for that, so why not include it at your family session?
