Hinsdale Family Photographer | Memories
Still catching up on blogs. Thank goodness for my excel spreadsheet of To Do items! LOL But I still clearly remember this session and this wonderful family! This is one of my favorite locations. I love all the architecture – the logs, the bridge, the stairs, etc. Not that you need a lot of variety in setting for a great session, but it certainly doesn’t hurt!
And let’s talk about how to dress for family sessions. This family did a great job of staying in hues of blue and purple that blended really well without anyone sticking out more than the other. When clients ask what they should wear, I will say pick three colors that harmonize and then everyone stays in that color palette. That way it isn’t too matchy matchy but also looks nice together. But I also like to recommend picking a color and people dressing in different shades of that color or two.
The benefit of having different spots like this place is being able to pose in different ways. Nothing is better than having stairs or something that allows the heights to vary and stack. At this session, they also brought their adorable dog. And you know how much I love dogs. If you are wondering where the dog was in some of these pictures, I was holding the leash while also taking pictures. Yes, I rock. LOL
They didn’t want the dog in every picture, so I just chose my favorite to share on the blog. But how adorable and perfect is he with that big smile?? So at that location, you can walk a bit (or drive just down the street) and have this! Now, if you want to ask to go here, you need to know that there is never a guarantee on how it will look. It was a great day here. At certain times, the sun would be glaring into their faces. If the water is really low, it looks horrible, but if the water levels are too high, there is no where for them to sit or stand in the water.
And of course we did individuals of all four of them, but I wanted to share this great one of mom and dad.
And of course one of the brothers.
Our summer has been full of awful hot weather, but things are looking better – so don’t wait to schedule your family’s session!
