Spring Flowers | Naperville Photographer
Mother’s Day mini sessions are always a struggle in terms of weather. It seems like every year it ends up super windy or raining or just blah. And we also don’t really have flowers blooming or anything then, either. So I had the idea to do Mother’s Day minis in studio with an outdoor set. I think it turned out great! And it was wonderful to not worry about hair blowing everywhere!
The above was obviously just of this beautiful girl, but it was setup for mothers and their kids. This was actually a backdrop of the old truck with flowers on it and a stand of flowers in front. I simply added a grass floor and more flowers to help blend it seamlessly.
I’ve been going outside again, but seeing these makes me wish I would just stay in studio. It is SO MUCH easier! LOL I picked this blue truck to help make it not too feminine. But since I knew moms would be in all the pictures, I thought the springtime flowers were perfect.
I’ve since sold this backdrop to another photographer, so please don’t ask for it! I didn’t like the way it looked if an adult was standing, so I always had them sitting.
This little guy needed a little help to stay put, so I had to pull my trucks out to keep him occupied. These I do still have. LOL
But the most important part of Mother’s Day pictures is having kids love on their moms, because they all deserve recognition and a moment of pamering.
Pictures are all about celebrating and creating memories. I’m called on for the big life moments as well as just the every day of being together. Life goes by so quickly, make time to preserve the memories because life sweeps them away in time. Pictures are touchpoints to the past.
