A Fresh Start | Chicago Headshot Photographer

The rule of thumb is that you need to have your headshots updated every three years in business. It doesn’t matter how much you love your old headshot from ten years ago. Yes, we know you have less wrinkles and maybe fewer pounds, but let’s get real here. You need to look the way you look when people meet you.  Time to let go!

My job is to give you an updated headshot that you will love and that fits what you need. I vary backgrounds and lighting depending on your industry. Some companies have specific requirements, and I can meet those, too.

This also means that how close or far we shoot plays a factor, as well. All of these factors give a different feel to a headshot. It’s not for everyone, but a closeup is the right call for some.

Light or dark backgrounds. Shadows or not. Oh, let’s also talk about glasses while we are at it. My rule of thumb is that if people will meet you with glasses, then wear the glasses! Yes, blue light protection is a nightmare for photographers, as is Transition lenses. But that’s my job to know how to deal with those issues.

You know what’s funny as I look at these images? Whenever I do headshots, I have people angle themselves to both sides in case they have a “better” side. I find it funny that the ones I’m posting here are all facing the same direction. LOL

And don’t forget about team pictures! This trio is one of my favorites.

So have I convinced you to update your headshot, yet? This post only showcased studio headshots, which represent 3/4 of the headshot work I do. I also happily travel onsite to your location for headshots, as well.
