Downers Grove Photographer
I had the pleasure of meeting this new family over the summer. They wanted a more lifestyle type session. When the kids are toddlers, it makes sense to lose the formality of posing, as it is almost impossible to get active toddlers to sit still. And when there are TWO toddlers…well, forget it. I was a Downers Grove photographer for this session at this great park. This first image was a minor miracle to get them sitting at the same time. LOL
Thankfully, we went to a location that gave the kids something to do by adventuring. This little bridge was just perfect. You can just see the sass on this one, can’t you? LOL
With a 15 month old, peek-a-boo is a great way to get them to at least be where I want them to be. It also usually generates some smiles. 🙂
And when the younger sibling is getting some attention, lo and behold, the older wants in on the action!
And when the younger one sees her big sister climbing the rails, well, of course she has to do it, too.
We also had some great family pictures. When doing unscripted, lifestyle sessions, getting families to play is always my best bet. And getting parents to do 1, 2, 3 wee is my favorite. Does that have an actual name besides 1, 2, 3 wee??! LOL Of course we had to do it a few times with each girl getting a turn.
While I naturally love posing families to create great images, I’m always up for a carefree romp with a family to showcase their personalities and playfulness. What type of pictures are you looking for and are drawn to? If you hire a photographer, be sure to communicate about your vision for the end result of your images. Of course, you should choose a photographer who has a style that you want. No photographer wants to do a whole session that the client doesn’t want. So be sure to check out their galleries and blogs to see if their style meshes with yours.
