Naperville Photographer, Downers Grove Photographer | Family
The holidays are a time for families getting together, so it is not unusual to be asked to photograph families at this time. Like I said, I’m really behind on blogging, so this was actually photographed right before Thanksgiving. This lovely couple had all of their daughters in town for the holiday. Being a blended family, they do not have many pictures of everyone together. I was invited to their beautiful home to capture them the day before Thanksgiving. Originally, I was planning on family coming up to see me, so it wasn’t a big deal, but that all changed, and I ended up driving eight hours after this to visit family. Ah well. At least I was working with adults. They made my job easy being so beautiful and nice.
When they asked where I would like to photograph them, I toured the house, but I really loved their dining room wall. They didn’t see it, but once we moved furniture out of the way, it made for a great backdrop. I love the clean lines.
They also had a great wall that I loved. And I loved posing the sisters like this. They were already cool, so might as well display their personalities.
Even though it was cold and misting, we went outside at the end for a couple of pictures. I always love steps for posting families.
We also did some great individual pictures as well as the two sets of sisters together, as well. This was the baby of the family.
Then we have her older sister. While we did smiling pictures, her parents joked that she should do a picture for her boyfriend. I loved this one.
We also did some pretty pictures in the interior of the house. That is the beauty of bringing in several lights.
And the coolest hair award goes to this sister. At the end of the session, we also did a few pictures of her and her pet rat. That was a first for me. I was surprised at how cute it was hanging out on her shoulders.
If you want to have pictures done in your home, think about clean spaces. You don’t want clutter or distractions taking away from the people, so a plain wall and beautiful floor can make for great pictures. As long as you are open to moving around furniture, having pictures done in your home is a great way to make the pictures more personal.
