Naperville Family Photographer, Hinsdale Photographer

When I originally talked with this client, she set me up to expect a horrible session with her family.  “My husband HATES having his picture taken,” she told me.  It had been about ten years since their last family pictures – definitely time for some new ones!  She was also concerned about her own weight.  Her parents would also be joining for a few pictures, but her mom couldn’t walk far, as she was having hip surgery soon.  One of her sons was mentally impaired.  And oh – no one wanted to do this photoshoot except for the mom. LOL  So this is what I knew going in.  I love it when people who have it in their heads that photoshoots are a pain because I get to totally change that perception.  Dad even said it wasn’t so bad.  That was a glowing review for him!  At the end, the youngest son was disappointed that it was over and asked if they could do it again next year.  Mission accomplished!

Obviously, this was back in the fall. 😉

The mom brought along some ideas and props.  This was one.

This was my favorite family picture, and they used it for their Christmas cards!  When I asked dad to get on the backside of the door, he just hopped over it!!  Guess it’s from back in his cattle days and jumping fences.

I love her expression here – total love.  And such beautiful light.

This is one of their family saying that they have in the house.

Then a nice casual one at the end of just the siblings.

Oak Brook photographer

I love photographing families with older children – they do whatever I say and stay still!  LOL  While autumn is behind us, winter can also make for some gorgeous portrait sessions if you have a taste for the whimsical or dramatic.
