Three years ago, I first photographed this family, when they were just a family of three and mom was pregnant with number two. Then last year, I got to meet the shy little one and the older sister was still as sweet as before. This year, the girls are older and SO MUCH FUN. Seriously, I totally wanted to steal them away and claim them as my own. I think with the freckles, it could have erworked, too. Probably not a good idea for me to start kidnapping children, but some days it is hard to not just cover little ones in kisses or squeeze the cuteness of the older ones. I did restrain myself, though. I can’t wait to see their personalities next year! The little one has so much sass and is totally precocious – she will be a handful and a blast. Big sister this year has stumbled into the lovely phase of girls giving fake cheesy smiles. I remember my daughter giving me just the same ones!
On this day, we were supposed to meet at this great location in Oak Brook, but wouldn’t you know it – there was a fun run going on and absolutely no parking available at all. So we went to another place that was close by that I have only photographed at once before because it was just too crowded. But what do you know – an early morning made it much better! We had some beautiful back lighting with the sun and countered it with my own light.
Such silly girls.
Seriously, this little one could be on a sitcom.
I wonder if they will sit as nicely next year?

I love this one because it wasn’t overly posed and everyone looks truly happy.
