One of the biggest compliments I can be paid is having a client return. I photographed this lovely lady’s older sister for her senior pictures a couple of years ago, so I was thrilled to get a call about this 2017 NNHS senior. Being a graduate of Naperville North High School, myself, I’m always a fan of fellow huskies. 😉 And to boot, this lovely lady is also a swimmer (which I was). Okay, that is enough of the comparisons. This senior opted to use both my professional hair and makeup team. For senior pictures, I really do recommend doing this. Having professional makeup does not equate to having dark makeup or too much makeup. My artists know how to do everything – and that includes a natural look.
We had an absolutely beautiful day for our session as we headed out to the dilapidated barn. Her first outfit was a casual choice. I love layers, and the plaid goes nicely with the outdoorsy look. I love big skies in pictures. And we had a perfect day for it with partial clouds.

And, yes, she smiled, too. But it is always great to get a variety of poses and expressions. We do not always look one way, and I would rather showcase someone’s full personality then just have them smile every time.
When deciding on which images to share, this next one is definitely one of my favorites. It is simply gorgeous. Using my light to be light the sun, we were able to create a piece of art.
Then it was time for some water. From the beginning, she had agreed to get wet for me. Now, I’ve had other seniors do this, too, but then chicken out about just how wet they were willing to get. Not this one. She was willing to get her underwear soaked for me – but with good cause.
And lastly, my other favorite image from this session. When I took it, I immediately showed it to her mother. The lighting was gorgeous.
