Baby, baby! That’s right, it’s time for some chubby goodness. Some six month sweetness. Some … okay, that’s all I got. But if you follow my posts, you know I love me some six month babes. Their gummy smiles, bright eyes, and fat rolls add together to create the ultimate in adorableness. Especially since they aren’t mobile, yet. I photographed this little dude for his newborn pictures, so I was thrilled to see how much he’s grown and changed. Since he is a winter baby, his newborn and one year session were and will be in the studio, so his mom asked for this session to be outside. We had a gorgeous day and a beautiful location for this little baby boy.
We started in this perfect setting. I saw it and insisted we start here. It was simply too gorgeous to pass. I brought along my little box and some fur to make it comfortable for him. Plenty of babies hate the feel of grass against their skin and will refuse to sit on it or lift their legs up to get it away from the strange texture.
And flipping over a box is great for sitters who aren’t very stable, yet.
Then it was time for some beautiful family portraits, as well.
I love the scrunchy face that babies get at this age when they are really happy.
And then to my favorite steps. Clients should always expect to get their butts dirty with me. I like people sitting more than standing.

But I always love showing a naked baby at this age. Between six and nine months, babies are at their fattest. I utterly love fat rolls on thighs and arms. This is such a short window when they are like this before they lean out with being mobile. Enjoy it. Celebrate it. Remember it.
