Naperville Pet Photographer | Puppy Love

We got ourselves a new puppy recently.  After our old Bernese Mountain Dog passed away last summer, we knew we would need to fill the hole she left in our hearts.  When I knew we would be getting a puppy, I had visions of trying a tongue-in-cheek newborn session with her. Little did I know just how difficult it would be to work with her!  Firstly, she is a terror and was in the very bitey stage during these pictures at only eight weeks old.  So we decided to do them in the evening when she is very tired, which she was.  But still, when I put her in the bird’s nest, she would just try to eat it. LOL  And I would get things set up, and she would walk somewhere else to sleep. LOL  Seriously, puppies are NOT easy things to photograph.

But let me introduce you to Phoebe, our little Berense Mountain Dog.  She is now currently 12 weeks and so much bigger!  I’m glad I have these to remember this furry girl.  She is still in the bitey stage and crazy.  I look forward to her mellowing out.  Maybe then I can do another photoshoot with her.

Check out those massive paws!

I put other newborns in this bucket, why not my newborn girl?

I thought these colors would go great with her tri-color look.

I had entered this one in a print competition and titled it, “Princess Fuzzbucket”.  LOL

Lastly, I knew I wanted to use my moon setup for her.  If she was wide awake, I was going to try to get her to howl at the moon.  As ti was, she was super sleepy and was good to just lay there.  I couldn’t believe she was almost too big to fit here.

While normally Firefly Nights Photography photographs dogs during our family sessions with their people, we also welcome having purely pet sessions, as well.  We can do either in studio or outdoors.
