Naperville Photographer | Extended Family Photography

I had the pleasure of being asked to photograph this extended family.  Such a small world.  I went to high school with one of the sons who asked me to photograph his parents for their 50th anniversary.  They had their three boys and their families  in town for the event.  It was a great time.  I had been warned that the youngest grandchild was a toddler, and who knew what to expect.  LOL  Well, everyone was great.  I traveled to the grandparents’ home.  Thankfully, the weather was nice, and we were able to go outside in their backyard for a little bit.

What a great looking bunch!

Congratulations to this wonderful couple.  Fifty years together, and still in love.  I had asked them to look at each other and say something inappropriate, which got them laughing, and then I told them to go ahead and hug.  I love this picture of them and the real love and laughter on her face.

Then we got the individual families for some pictures of them.  The lighting was just beautiful.

After taking some other pictures of this family, I told them to get in tight for a group hug.  I love their smiles here.

We were also able to use the sun room at the house for some pretty and light images of the siblings.

I also did a few pictures just of this grand daughter.  She is currently a high school senior, so we wanted some of just her.  I wish I had the chance to do a whole session with her, as I know we could have done some amazing things.

Do not overlook the importance of extended family pictures.  How often are all the cousins together?  How often do the grandparents have all of their grandchildren around them?  How many more years will everyone be together?  Take advantage of these times and memorialize them.
