Elmhurst Photographer | Playing with the M Family

I had so much fun working with the M family recently in studio.  Granted, the twelve year old son would have rather been pretty much anywhere but having his picture taken, but I tried to make it as painless as possible for him.   His sister and younger brother were much more willing to play around with me.  But let’s not forget their awesome mom!  We started with some family pictures.  She told me she would be happy if she got just one nice family picture.  I love exceeding expectations. 😉  I just had to make sure to keep the oldest two separated at all times.  It is so funny how family dynamics come into play when I pose families. I always ask who people get along best with (and the opposite), because I’m not going to get happy, natural smiles if there is tension between people.

I can’t decide which of these two family pictures I like better.

 

 

Then we did individual pictures of each of the kids.  I selected setups to go with their personalities and clothing.  This kid was a riot and so full of personality and energy.

 

His older sister had this beautiful dress that went perfectly with this classy background.  I love this picture of her.  She is definitely in the tween years!  I can already imagine photographing her when she is a senior.

 

But before I get her back, I hope I get her big brother again!  What a handsome guy – even if he was NOT into having his picture taken.  I told him that the quicker he smiled, the sooner I would be done.  He was a natural.

 

But before they could leave me, they wanted to do a family picture in their Chicago Blackhawks shirts.  They also wanted the Chicago skyline in a picture, so we created this one:

But little brother wanted to do a stadium shot.
