While we have had a very temperate autumn so far, we have had some windy days. Unfortunately, this was one of those really blustery days. We still made it work, though. With this couple and their fur baby, I moved as quickly as I could and always aimed the woman toward the wind whenever possible. So glad she didn’t have very long hair to be blowing in her face. Their little dog, Quincy, a Chihuahua and terrier mix, was a perfect gentleman. He was quite content to just be held, and I could tell he was used to being in their laps on the couch, as he was uncomfortable when I tried to have him sit next to them as opposed to on them or be held. Even with the win, we got some great pictures for this family.
When picking locations for outdoor sessions, I think of the client’s personality as well as the logistics. For such a small dog, we couldn’t really be out in long grasses. And just holding the dog in a field gets old, so this location was perfect, giving lots of spots for us.
Just because I said I didn’t want to do a bunch of pictures in tall grasses doesn’t mean I didn’t want to do any! 😉 Love the purple thistle flowers.
This one may be my favorite from the session.
But that pretty sky can’t really be beat, either. I didn’t ever have to pose Quincy – he just climbed up on them naturally.
Firefly Nights Photography has a studio located in downtown Naperville. However, we obviously love to do outdoor sessions, as well. If you live in the Chicago area, especially the western suburbs like Downers Grove and Hinsdale, we hope you will consider us for your portrait needs – be they maternity, newborn, child, high school senior, athletes, or family pictures.
