Best of Naperville Winner – Best Photographer 2015

Last night, I attended the 2015 Best of Naperville awards through Naperville Magazine at Hotel Arista.  With a packed room full of Naperville’s best and brightest, it was like attending a swanky wedding for a coworker – one where it is a big wedding and you don’t really know many people. 😉  People are always dressed to the nines.  And just like at most weddings, there are the few exceptions. LOL  I was determined NOT to wear a dress this year, as I hate wearing them, but I caved at the last minute.

The Best of Naperville awards always goes all out.  This year, they had performing aerial silk dancers outside.  Attending these sort of events is my personal hell.  I have major social anxiety when it comes to attending social functions, though I am great one on one.  I’ve been known to skip when possible.  I know, I know – I’m weird.  At least we were seated in a back corner, so I got to feel a bit hidden. I’m always amazed to watch the people who go around networking and schmoozing. That is so not something I can do – probably should, but just can’t. But I did have fun getting dolled up with the help of my awesome makeup artist – Makeup by Elisa.

My assistant was not able to come along this year, so my lovely husband got to be my date, which I am very thankful for, as I really hate these things.  Did I already say that? 😉
