Chicago Newborn Baby Photographer, Naperville Photographer

Sometimes you get a newborn baby who just rocks their session.  Little James here was one of them at exactly one week old.  Not only was he awesome for me, but the entire family was so nice and fun!  We had new mom and dad, along with grandma and mom’s sister.  It actually worked out great, as I had plenty of assistants to help out or go run and get a drink. 😉  Let’s not forget how horribly disgusting I get with sweat during these sessions. LOL  Seriously, I should have a blanket apology to clients that haven’t met me prior to a newborn session.  I look like crap and only get worse. LOL But these sessions aren’t about it (thank goodness).  We only care about these little nuggets, and this little guy was pure sweetness for me.  I can’t believe how much we got with him!

Now, I always start with family pictures, but new mom and dad weren’t planning on being in any pictures.  I talked them into some, stressing that they will want to look back and remember them holding their tiny newborn.  In just a few weeks, they will barely remember this time, and certainly not remember how very little he was in their arms.  So even though they weren’t really prepared to be photographed, they let me have my way, and I’m so glad.

 

After the family pictures, we went straight to some prop ones since he was dead asleep.  And look, I caught a little infant smile from him!

 

 

I’m loving this outfit in the crate here.

 

Then, of course, we did our traditional blanket pictures.

 

 

 

And then we finished off with two more props – seriously, newborns are never this agreeable to so many set changes!   I’m still loving this new basket, though I realize now that only small babies are going to fit in it.

 

I love how his arm hung out over the boat in this one.  You can tell he was totally out of it.
