Naperville Senior Photographer, Wheaton Photographer | Fun in the Snow

I was told that this senior wanted to have her session in the snow, so when I met her for her senior consultation, we got some ideas together, specifically her in a swing with a single tree in a field of snow.  I don’t remember how long ago we met, but we had to wait for us to get some decent snow.  Unlike last year, we really haven’t had much.  But then we got that huge snow fall of over a foot.  That first weekend was actually about 40 degrees and sunny outside.  Snow was melting like crazy, but since we had so much on the ground, it was fine.  And since it had been brutally cold in the prior days, most of the snow was untouched, leaving a pristine playground for us.

But before we started with the outdoor pictures, she stopped by the studio for a few athlete shots.  She has already finished up her senior season as a swimmer and wanted to commemorate the years of work.  If you are a swimmer, you know this stretch well.

 

Ok, on to the snow pictures!  We couldn’t have asked for a better day.  We didn’t freeze at all.  Both of her parents came along, and I’m so glad they did to assist.  And they were also so wonderfully nice!  We started with natural lighting and by the woods.

 

 

 

Then she changed outfits and we went to the open field.  I also brought out my studio lighting and battery pack.  This is where I was very thankful to have her parents with us.  We had to lug a ladder, the swing, the lighting, etc.  I needed their extra hands.  And then I forgot the battery pack in the car, so her dad had to go back and grab it. LOL  I put them in charge of keeping my light stand stable in the snow.  While I’ve tried this swing to trees in the past, this is the first time in the snow!
