Chicago Commercial Photographer | Sports Memorabilia

So besides portraits, Firefly Nights Photography also provides commercial photography for a variety of clients and purposes.  I’ve been doing some amazing product photography for this high end sports memorabilia company that has signed baseball bats, jerseys, football helmets, etc. But beyond just being signed, they are hand painted by an incredible painter, creating one of a kind works of art.  Personally, I know pretty much nothing about sports, but even I was wowed by the pieces.  Some of the paintings are so good, they look like they should be stickers or something.  If you are a sports nut or need to get a present for one and have cash to burn, you should check out their work at McKay Custom Sports.  It has been a lot of fun seeing these pieces.

Out of the dozens of bats I photographed, this one is my favorite.  Love the design on it.

 

And being in Chicago, of course he had an awesome Bears football helmet with these signatures and portraits:

 

They can also do stadium seats like this:

 

You can really see the incredible detail of the portraits here.  Just amazing to me.

 

Besides small things like that, McKay Custom Sports also creates large display pieces like this 8 foot long piece with the Chicago Bulls elite.  Figuring out how to light this (it was under glass) took some time, but we finally got it just right.

So, seriously, if you are a big-time sports fan, you should check them out.  I’ve been having fun photographing a lot of their products, but I know a true fan would have been drooling all over them.
