I had the pleasure of photographing this woman’s maternity session weeks ago.  She is finishing her family with her fourth baby, another little girl.  She was a ten day old newborn on the day of our session, but guess what?  It was also her big sister’s second birthday on that day!  We started with family pictures, as I always like to do those first, but it also allows for little ones to be free to go home or outside, etc.  On this day, this little baby was a bit fussy, but we waited her out just fine.  Patience is always key for these sessions.

I absolutely love this family picture – mom with all of her brood.

 

Of course, we also had to get just the siblings, too.

 

This little newborn baby decided to be awake for a bit, showing off her beautiful blue eyes for a picture.

 

Many times, people will ask what I do about umbilical cords – as if that is a concern.  It isn’t to me.  It is not the focus of the pictures, but I do not seek to hide it, either.  When it does show up, like in the below picture, it just goes to show that she is a true newborn.

 

I love this dusty rose color for baby girls.  Look at that full belly!
