Naperville Senior Photographer, Downers Grove Senior Photographer | Dark Muse
Conceptual photography is something I am slowly getting more into. I have big ideas and really enjoy being able to see them come to fruition. I had this vision for almost a full year and was so excited when this Naperville North High School senior was up for something totally different. I love it when clients allow me total artistic freedom, though I was surprised just how on board both she and her mother were. I warned them that these were not going to be typical senior pictures in any way. That the makeup alone would turn her into someone/something else. But they were all for it!
I have to give a shout out to my hair & makeup team who really went above and beyond to help me realize my vision. Everyone put in a lot of time on this session – from the client shopping for just the right outfit, to me making the head wreath. We were waiting for us to have plenty of snow on the ground but not be super cold – something that has been hard to find this winter with our arctic cold. On this day, a snow storm was coming in, but I was hoping we could squeeze in before it dumped on us. I got the flowers hung into the trees and literally put away my ladder when the flakes started falling. It was literally a blizzard by the time we started shooting. I worried about it ruining her hair and makeup, but it only added to the atmosphere. I had her huddle under evergreens to get some without falling snow. It was certainly an adventure – and a success!
And now – here is my Dark Winter’s Muse.
