Snow Princess | Naperville Senior Photographer, Downers Grove Senior Photographer

Ok, seriously, I think I’m in love with this session. Total and utter love.  I have been wanting to photograph another senior outside in the snow since my last one, but our Chicago winters have not been cooperative the past couple of years.  I had this senior signed up, and then we got that big 6 inch snow dump.  Her mom asked if I would be up for something in the snow, and I had to ask if she would be up for something dramatic.  you see, I’ve had an image in my head for a while of a girl with long dark hair, wearing a long formal black dress out in the snow.  In my head, I saw her with a red, hooded cloak as well.  They liked the idea I  had and asked around and found a neighbor with this black dress and another neighbor with the red wrap.  PERFECT!

Haley is a senior at Aurora Catholic High School and is a dancer.  She was all for some dramatic images, and she was such a trooper being out in the snow with just the dress.  I did make her put on a coat in between takes, and she wore leggings and snow boots beneath the dress, but still – never once did she complain.  I couldn’t have asked for a better subject for this idea.  I think they look like they should be on the cover of the latest Young Adult paranormal romance series.  Hmmm…. 😉
