Eight | Naperville photographer, Chicago special needs photograher

My boy.  My giggly, funny, crazy boy.  At eight, how much longer will he still call me “Mommy”?  How much longer will he laugh and smile so free of self-restraint?  It’s his smile that has always touched my heart, forcing me to smile with him.  I’m so glad that with the recent addition of braces, his smile still affects me so.

My son is not really a fan of having his pictures done.  Bringing out my camera seems to heighten the lack of eye contact from him, usually.  One of the challenges of having Asperger’s Syndrome.  But this time, I got a lot of eye contact from him?  Why?  Well, I gave him permission to act.  We decided to do a “nerd” session – so he got to be a bit silly.  Ok, we didn’t start off with the glasses and t-shirt, but it sure was a fun, short session with my big guy.

I had thought the prop would be sort of fun and goofy – but honestly in this first one, I think he rocks the Buddy Holly frames.  He’s old school. 😉

But here he got to play up the “nerd”, first pondering, then Aha! LOL
