What do you do with 2 year old twins and a 4 year old big sister? PAJAMA PARTY!  If you fear your kids just will not tolerate being still, then stop trying to reign them in for pictures, and let them go wild (in a controlled setting) and capture lifestyle pictures.  These are my regulars, and since the twins turned 6 months, Coleman turned clingy and just has not wanted to do pictures since then.  Thankfully, mom was all for some true lifestyle images and planned their pajamas.  That is one thing you need to think about when having a lifestyle session – clothing.  While things aren’t posed and planned, in order to not make images look like snapshots, you need to be aware of lighting, clothing, and backgrounds.  The kids had a blast playing on the bed, especially when I told them to jump.  Thank goodness mom was  standing guard to catch them, and there were a few times I put down the camera to grab one.  Moms of twins – my hat is off to you!

How do you get real smiles from toddlers?  Put them on mommy & daddy’s bed!

And if you have a little one who is super clingy, then just give in.  Showing him holding mommy’s hand shows how he is at this age, and is far better than him crying.
