I met the W family last year and had a great session in their house when the skies decided to dump on us.  This year, they really wanted to try for outdoors, but man, it was COLD!  The poor girl was miserable as we walked, so we stopped into Gap Kids and bought a pair of leggings to help.

I really enjoy these kids.  They remind me of my own kids, just a few years older.  Their son also has Asperger’s Syndrome, and is just as chatty and friendly as my boy.  What warmed my heart was in the beginning, we were doing sibling pictures, and he was doing a fake smile (but a good one), and he would ask his mom if he was doing a good job.  I loved his effort and thought he rocked with his expressions.  His sister is always very funny, and she was a hoot and a trooper as she froze.  I made sure to get them in their coats and gloves in between shots.  Poor things!

But even with all the blustery cold, we got some great images.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

I always try to have kid say something silly to get them smiling naturally, and as they get older, it is harder to think of things to get them to say.  So Colin jumped in to the rescue and said, “Inappropriate things.  I’m saying inappropriate things,” which got his sister laughing.
