Burr Ridge Baby Photographer, Naperville Baby Photographer

I don’t usually go to people’s houses unless they want to use their home as the background for their pictures.  This family wanted to have me out to their beautiful home for their son’s one year pictures.  It was a very rainy day, which was unfortunate, as we couldn’t go outside for any pictures.  Thankfully, I brought two lights, as it was so dark outside, that there was very little light inside, even with all the lights on.  Good thing I’m a studio photographer with lights!  They also had an awesome dog who I immediately wanted to steal and bring home – Snow – the perfect name for the Samoyed.  I mean, don’t you just want to cuddle him?  He certainly wanted to cuddle me. LOL

So we did some family pictures, but the little guy was NOT happy.  Actually, he was happy. He would crawl right to me for me to pick up.  He obviously liked me, but he did NOT like my lights.  They frightened him and upset him.  But we desperately needed them.  So I took off my transmitter and turned on the modeling lights on the strobes, which leaves the lights on (though not nearly as powerful).  At least this way, they weren’t firing, and he quickly got over his fear.  It also helped to pull out a small toy for him to focus on – in this case, a blue lego piece that he then refused to let go of. We left the study to go out into the foyer.  He was happier being on the white rug…though the lego was still tightly in his hands.
