Naperville Photographer | Unicorn Mini-Sessions (1 of 2)

Let me begin this tale with the story of a little girl who absolutely LOVED unicorns as a child.  She had unicorn shirts, toys, statues, books.  She dreamt of unicorns and magic.  This little girl grew up with a big imagination and never lost her love of magic and unicorns.  So last fall, I took my kids on their very first trail ride.  At the end of it, they gave us a barn tour, and out comes this tiny white unicorn.  My inner five year old self squealed, and I think I did, too.  “Oh my gosh, what is that?!”  They told me she was getting ready for a photoshoot and that they rent her out a lot.  I think there was a mini explosion somewhere inside me at this point.  I knew I HAD to do a unicorn mini session with this little white beast.  The trouble is….I didn’t know if there were other unicorn-obsessed children or parents out there.  It could have been a huge flop. I had no sample pictures to promote it, but I kept thinking, regardless of the pictures, if I had had the opportunity to meet a “real” unicorn at that age, I would have been in heaven!  It would have been a memory for a lifetime.

And that is what I wanted to create for any little girls out there who also wanted a piece of magic.  So I announced the mini-sessions, uncertain if anyone would even be interested.  Lo and behold – I totally sold out!  And now that I’ve done it, others will know what to expect if I do them again.  It was a gorgeous day, and every little girl had such a wonderful experience.  Here are a sampling from half of the mini’s.  I’ll post a second post with the other half separately.

I love that mom hopped in for a picture, too.  And now – meet Pattycakes – the tiny unicorn.  Check out the beautiful dresses on these sisters!

When girls were a little hesitant to touch  the unicorn, sitting in front of her always works, as she was just happy to graze.
