Chicago Newborn Photographer, Naperville Newborn Photographer

I don’t usually get newborns past their second week, but little Cameron here had an extended stay in the NICU.  He is completely healthy now and came to see me once he was three weeks old.  And can I say how flipping adorable he was?  What cracks me up is that dad warned me that he was a fussy baby.  Some are – some make me really work, but not this guy.  He was soooo content.  He’d stir, we’d feed him, and he’d sleep.  Or at first, he was wide awake, but completely calm, and I was able to take some great pictures of him with his eyes open.  And I can already tell, he is going to have some super blue eyes.  Another thing that helped was that this little guy was a sucker, and using a pacifier allowed him to be calm and still, as long we let him keep it.  Then I would pluck it out for a quick picture and give it back.

I love the intensity of his eyes here.

But eventually, he fell deep asleep.  He had such creamy skin.

So this is not a blanket I usually show because I use it as a layering cushion, but this is mom’s favorite color – it’s even the color on his car seat!  I have to admit, I may have to start using this more.

I’ve wanted to do this image for a while, so when dad mentioned wanting to use my big bear in a picture, I knew just what we should try.  Thankfully, little Cameron didn’t mind snuggling with her at all.

They also told me that his nursery is star and moon themed, so it was imperative to get a good picture with my moon and night sky.  As you can see, we definitely did.

And then we finished up with my famous bear hat and the Dream bucket.  He couldn’t have been better.

I’m so glad I got to photograph Cameron for his newborn pictures.  Out of all of my sessions, I know newborns will be the most important.  They will always be there, as newborn pictures are timeless.  I hope I get the pleasure of continuing to watch him grow.

Thank you for coming to Firefly Nights Photography!
