Naperville Photographer, Chicago Special Needs Photographer

I love it when families that I have met during our special needs mini sessions come back for a full session!  I hadn’t seen this family in a couple years, but I still definitely remembered them.  The oldest brother is non-verbal with autism.  His mom and I both knew we would have to go quickly, as his window for tolerating this would be short.  He was great about following direction, though he would get stressed and a bit overwhelmed at times and become upset, his parents were awesome about refocusing him by saying, “Whose handsome?”  This usually got a smile from him.  His two younger siblings were filled with smiles and mischief.  Boy, are they going to be in trouble when their daughter gets older.  I can just see it! LOL

Smiles were also made a bit easier because they brought along their adorable puppy who made for a good distraction.

Getting the three to be close was a tough one at this point, but well worth it.  Thank goodness for bribing with videos on a phone.

Such a little stud, right? LOL  I loved his gap toothed smile.

And here is our little diva.  I’m just kidding, she isn’t a diva. She just comes off as so much older than she is.  She may have two older brothers, but I think she may really be the one in charge.

And here is our handsome six grade guy!  What a great smile and eye contact we got here.  He is really looking quite the tween, isn’t he?

Photographing children with special needs, especially those on the autism spectrum, is truly one of my very favorite things to do.  My spectrumites hold such a special place in my heart, and being able to connect with them is a blessing.
